How do you choose the right motorcycle seat?

A good motorcycle seat on your motorcycle is important. It must be beautiful, but it must also be good and comfortable. You can choose different models. A solo saddle or a duo saddle. A fixed saddle or a sprung saddle. A good motorcycle seat also offers good support and ensures that you stay in place when you drive away from the traffic light. You shouldn't slide off your saddle. Most saddles that you mount directly on the frame give good support to your buttocks. There is a correct fit and you often have support at the height of your lower back, which is very nice.

A suspension solo motorcycle saddle is often not mounted correctly. A solo saddle is attached to a seat hinge at the front and 2 springs at the back. These can be spiral springs but also hairpin springs. The height of the springs is very important. Often the position of the saddle is looked at without someone sitting on it. It should look nice. The seat should follow the line from the top of the gas tank to the rear axle. However, if someone of ± 100Kg then takes a seat on the saddle, the position of the saddle becomes much too low and the person slides off the saddle. So if you go for comfort, place slightly higher springs under the hinged solo motorcycle seat. If you go for the looks, make sure the saddle is in a nice position.
